ACOD workshops

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to explore The Celtic Medicine Wheel, the Celtic ShamanÕs most powerful tool.

There is in each of us a unique set of symbols belonging to our subconscious mind. These symbols are the keys that can enable us to unlock the secrets of our subconscious, to understand why we behave in the way we do and the hidden meanings behind syncronistic events in our lives. There are many ways to discover these symbols: through dreams, recurring incidents, hypnosis, oddly significant events, trance & altered states of consciousness (ASC). The discovery of these symbols is one of the principle aims of tribal Shamans the world over. The Ogham or Celtic Tree Runes however, present us with a ready-made system of patterns, many if not all are derived from deep-rooted ancestral & tribal archetypes, and are the foundation for western consciousness. The complete system is quite complex - the embodiment of the Celtic culture, including Gods, Goddesses, trees, herbs, animals, the year wheel of rituals, the seasons, myths and legends, a divination system, an oracle and a do-it-yourself psychology kit. The complete Sacred Medicine Wheel can be broken down to produce simpler Medicine wheels and teachings, some of which we will be exploring during this workshop

Sigils &Talismans

Talismans have many uses: an effective shield from psychic attack to helping to manifest your desires. In this workshop we explore some of the aspects of talismans & magical sigils. We will be learning to make & cut our own Ogham talisman, create a magical sigil and effectively charge them with your shaman power. All in a beautiful, rainforest grove, in the Gold Coast Hinterland

Trees from earliest times have been associated with magic & considered symbols & keepers of ancient knowledge & power. Out of this belief the earliest Celtic Druids created the ÔCeltic Tree Runes' or Tree Ogham. For centuries it was used for oracles, divination, fortune telling and magic. It was said to be also used for sending secret messages.

Modern Druids believe that hidden within the Ogham is much of the lost Druidic lore. crystallized within vibration of that particular ÔTree OghamÕ. In this workshop you learn to make your own talisman pendant, hand carved & made with native hardwood & treated with traditional bees wax polish.

The use of magical sigils.
To charge these with your shaman power

The pendants are to be worn as talisman-charms. Holding and looking at them in a daily meditation can help us attune to the principle we imbue within the sigil or talisman

Drum Painting Workshop

- With Corin Thistlewood

Following the drum making w/s, for those who want to paint & decorate their drum. Through pathworking we will be manifesting your own power symbol from spirit through to the physical, to paint on your drum. A transformative experience.

For those who don't want to paint a drum try making a medicine shield. Making your Medicine shield, with others of like mind, in a rainforest grove. Campfire, the smell of sweet incense. Those that have previously made their own drum may want to decorate it with their own power symbol, in a sacred way during the workshop. (All materials supplied)(Food share)
