Special occasions

Special occasions mean different things to different people. One of the universal precepts of human behaviour is the need to mark these special occasions with ceremony and ritual. Within Druidry most of these occasions come under the category of rites of passage: the birth of a baby, a baby naming, entering pubity, coming of age, a marriage or handfasting to name a few.

At ACOD Part of the work of ACOD is to provide ceremonies for these special occasions i.e.. Celtic or Druid marriage ceremonies, baby naming, and other rites of passage. We feel that it is a very important part of creating a sense of tribe and community as well as giving special significance and acknowledgement when moving from one phase of your life to another.

Baby naming

This ritual is for the purpose of formally naming a child, and presenting him or her to the universe. It is a first rite of passage for a new life, called "christening" in Christianity.

This naming ceremony is a ancient tradition that has been carried down through the ages by our ancestors and is a sacred thing. For it is celebrating the birth & life of a little one who has come into your family & community.
